This offering is for an antique early 19th century Whitework Sampler. There are whitework designs at top, bottom and down both sides. In addition there is a whitework border on all four sides with each side having a different pattern. There are two names on the work, those of Christiane Lindner and Auguste Kuhn as well as a date of 1824. Four other sets of initials are also part of the work.
The sight size in the frame is 13 by 14, the sampler was framed when I acquired it and it does not seem to have been done very long ago. There is a bit of scattered soiling that shows up more in the photos due to the flash than it actually appears in person.
There are also some breaks in the fine mesh in the corners. Lastly there are at least three small pin head or slightly larger holes in the background that I see. Other than as noted the condition is very nice with minor wear to the surface but no rips, tears or repairs. If additional photo's are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them.
