Antique rare Kaleidoscope Flower Bouquet Hand Stitched Quilt Top 75x85 NICE

  

This is an outstanding quilt top, all hand stitched except for the two inch border which has been added by machine. This is high quality hand stitching, 9-10 stitches per inch, and it is a kaleidoscope of colors!! The first photo was taken outside with sun shining behind the top.

It looks like a stained glass church window! There are 50 full bouquets and 23 partial bouquets around the edges. Each bouquet block measures 9 1/2 in by 9 1/2 in. The quilt top is 75 in wide and 85 inches in length.

It must have taken this person a very long time to complete this top. It truly is a superb work of art and craftsmanship. From the early 20th century, this top is from rural Missouri. The fabric is cotton and I suspect that some of the fabric was feed sack. The fabric is clean and has no odor. There are 3 tiny age spots on the border, each about the size of a pencil eraser. This top will make an outstanding addition to your collection! Photos were taken inside and outside for better clarity. Please note this is for a quilt top only. To be a completed quilt, one will need to add batting, a backing fabric and binding. This is certain to be a treasured, cheerful and colorful addition to any quilt collection.
