Pretty and eye-catching victorian sewing machine. Unmistakable its 2 stars in green and red colors. The machine works perfectly and is complete.

The needle bar is open and the lever at the base operates the reverse sewing mechanism. The base decal says The Gresham and has the letters H, G, C intertwined with Manchester underneath. The company was founded by John Spier Heron, James Gresham, and Thomas Craven in 1869. In addition to sewing machines, the company manufactured a proprietary woven wire mattress, improved Giffard injectors for steam boilers, vacuum brakes, and other train equipment. Sewing machine production ceased in 1884 and the company concentrated on other engineering projects.
