A rare and attractive set of bookends of a knight holding his shield and a flag with his black horse behind him and the flag. Nice detail Embossed "Sir Galahad" on the front of the bases. No maker's mark or other marks. The set is listed in Kuritzky and De Costa's Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends (2006) on p.A magnet does not stick. CONDITION: The bookends are in nice condition. The bright paint is in excellent shape, except for a few small chips at the tops of the white part of the flag. Each bookend has one or two tiny white specks on the ground on which the knight stands. Some wear to the paint on the back sides. No dents, damage, or repairs. The bookends sit stably on a table and flush back-to-back. The felts are old and could be original. DIMENSIONS: Each bookend is 7" tall, 5" wide at the base, and 2.25 deep at the base. Together the set weighs 4 pounds and 12 ounces. The photographs are part of the description.
