This mini oil lamp is a rare find as it is complete all original and untouched. The lamp is from the late 1800's and was made by Northwood.
The burner collar is impressed with patent dates with one reading April 1876. The base and shade have a swirled ribbed design. The pattern in blue and white opalescent is a spatter or snow drop design. The metal lamp parts have a great patina with the burner turner still useable and working. The glass is crude, bubbly and has numerous swirls on both the shade and lamp base. The condition of the lamp is excellent with no chips, cracks, stains or restorations. We only see some outer base wear some areas of dried oil which can be removed. We see and mostly feel some very minor grinding flicks on the inner rim of the shade which are in the making. The height of the lamp with the chimney is approx.
6 1/2 for the base and shade with no chimney. This is a great survivor that is complete all original and untouched. We do not see many examples like this that are fresh to the market. Most examples are in private collections. Thanks for viewing our auctions and any questions please ask.
