Rare Antique Thermos Wood Brass Copper Glass Ice Bucket Norwich, Ct Nice
A very rare Thermos brand tall wooden ice bucket, with brass bands and copper lid w/ wooden handle. Interior is lined with glass - this is a very heavy piece weighing nearly 11 pounds. Measures 14.5" high (16" with the handle up). Glass interior has a few small areas of discoloration but in remarkable shape. 3 Copper bands holding the wood in place - a few areas of minor pitting but overall nice.
Marked on bottom with metal tag THERMOS REG U. This is in overall very nice condition - some minor splitting to the wood (see pics), but everything is here, including the copper lid / with wood handle in excellent condition. Even the interior has held up well - a few marks on the glass but in overall good shape. Heavy and very well made piece - ready to be used again or displayed (or both).
